Privacy Policy for AutoSpod
Effective date: September 2, 2026
AutoSpod is designed to connect your Android phone to compatible sPOD hardware using Bluetooth Low Energy and to display supported controls and device information through the phone app and Android Auto.
Information We Collect
AutoSpod does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties. The app does not require account registration and does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
The app may process the following information locally on your device:
- Nearby Bluetooth device names, identifiers, and signal strength while scanning for compatible sPOD devices.
- The identifier of the last connected sPOD device, stored locally to support reconnection behavior.
- sPOD device telemetry, such as voltage, temperature, circuit status, and switch status.
- Switch settings configured by you, such as switch names, dimming values, and related switch preferences.
- Passkey responses from compatible sPOD hardware when you request a passkey in the app.
How Information Is Used
AutoSpod uses local device and Bluetooth information only to:
- Find compatible sPOD devices nearby.
- Connect to selected sPOD hardware over Bluetooth Low Energy.
- Display sPOD status information in the phone app and Android Auto.
- Send switch control commands, including on/off and dimming-related commands, to connected sPOD hardware.
- Remember local switch settings and the last connected device on your phone.
Bluetooth and Location Permissions
AutoSpod uses Bluetooth permissions to scan for and connect to nearby sPOD devices. On older Android versions, Android may associate Bluetooth scanning with location-related permissions. AutoSpod does not collect your physical location and does not send location data to any server.
Data Storage
AutoSpod stores settings locally on your device using Android app storage. This may include switch names, dimming values, feature toggles, and the last connected device identifier. This data remains on your device unless you clear the app data or uninstall the app.
Data Sharing
AutoSpod does not transmit your data to our servers and does not share your data with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers. Data exchanged with sPOD hardware is used only for Bluetooth communication between your phone and the connected device.
Android Auto
When used with Android Auto, AutoSpod displays supported device information and controls through the Android Auto interface. The Bluetooth connection remains managed by the phone app. Android Auto may process app display and interaction data according to Google's own privacy practices.
Children's Privacy
AutoSpod is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
AutoSpod uses Android platform APIs for Bluetooth communication and local app storage. No method of electronic storage or wireless communication is completely secure, but the app is designed to keep its app-specific data local to your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when legal, platform, or operational requirements change. The updated policy will include a new effective date.
